Other Lives – Black Tables lyrics
When the whites of your eyes come through,
You will see something new
With your body and mind restored,
It's good to see you back home

When the life in your eyes wants black,
Things return; you've come back
With your body and mind restored,
It's good to see you once more

Turning black tables
And you're turning black tables
And you're making your head whirl
Making your head whirl
And you're turning black tables
And you're turning black tables
And you're making your head whirl
Making your head whirl

As for the song itself, I'm still trying to figure out the meaning. I just got it a few hours ago from itunes promotion of 10 free singles and fell in love with it at the first hearing.

I think "whites in your eyes" represents the part in someones life where they finally see something that wasnt mean to be seen. The mystery. The restoration represents the changes people undergoe however they never lose their true self, the person they were as a child is still the person they. This song shows how people find themselves addicted to pain, but just can't find the meaning to diagnos themselves. Its about how people lose themselves but always restore who they were originally. "turning black tables" represents the stages in life in which people fall onto the wrong path and lose their genuin self. How when they've lost themselves they become confused and forget where they came from in the first place. "making your head whirl"

Sounds like some major internal struggles for the fellow telling the story. Lots of "good" and "bad" achetypes here it seems. Black/white and the being "restored" vs. "making your head whirl". Something serious here, man. The music, in a minor key conveys struggle and conflict as well. Until the end, where we go to a happier key and "turning black tables" is repeated over and over, whatever that means. Fun to interpret! Love these guys!
