Marianas Trench – So Soon lyrics
You say, sometimes, it's like I hardly know you
And maybe there's somethings I never showed you
Sometimes you're certain, but just can't get it working at all

You say to yourself somebody better
Will understand you more than I ever
I'll shake his hand, and smile, and say I understand, while I do
That don't mean I don't think about you

I know we
Said it's just as well that I won't keep, keep you for myself
But, I don't want to see you happier with somebody else

Oh, why can't you just be lo-lo, lo lo-lo, lo lonely?
Why can't you just be lo-lo, lo lo-lo, lo lonely?
Why can't you just be lo-lo, lo lo-lo, lo lonely?
I know you need someone too
This just feels so soon

I know some things should just stay broken
I'm well aware this should remain unspoken
But I've been working on the things that I was learing all wrong, oh

I know sometimes I only twist ya
And maybe I'm too proud to say I missed ya
But what if here and now, I tell you that I'm all figured out?
Or maybe I just like how that sounds

I know we
Said it's just as well that I won't keep, keep you for myself
But I don't want to see you happier with somebody else

Oh, why can't you just be lo-lo, lo lo-lo, lo lonely?
Why can't you just be lo-lo, lo lo-lo, lo lonely?
Why can't you just be lo-lo, lo lo-lo, lo lonely?
I know you need someone too
This just feels so

And I know it seems beneath me
But sometimes it's not so easy
To wish you well and let you go

And I say it's just as well
That I just can't keep you for myself
I don't want to see you happier with somebody else

Oh, lo-lo, lo lo-lo, lo lonely?
Why can't you just be lo-lo, lo lo-lo, lo lonely?
Why can't you just be lo-lo, lo lo-lo, lo lonely?
This just feels so
This just feels so,
Feels so soon

(Lo-lo, lo lo-lo, lo lonely?)
Why can't you be
(Lo-lo, lo lo-lo, lo lonely?)
Why can't you be
(Lo-lo, lo lo-lo, lo lonely?)

This just feels so,
This just feels so,
This just feels so soon

They broke up. She went and found someone new. He knows she needs someone to be with, and they both agreed that they shouldn't go back together, but he doesn't want to see her happier with other guy because that hurts. This is a song about selfishness. Thus "why can't you just be lonely? ". The "so soon" line means they haven't broke up for that much time for him to get over it.

A girl and a guy broke up. The girl is madly inlove with him still. He loves her. But he wont fully admit it to himself. He can't decide. She loves him. But he doesn't know. He'll be done. And then he will miss her. She gets jealous. She can't stand him with other girls. Shes so lonely. But he doesn't understand. He doesn't see it. But maybe things are happening "so soon. " if he doesn't make a move. He will lose her.

I love this song. He's crazy about a girl that moved on before he was ready to completely let her go and imagine her with someone else. He admits that he's being selfish and rather her be alone and sad than happy with another man. Now maybe I'm reading into this too much, but it seems to me that the ending with the church style music kind of suggests to me that she married another man. This just further emphasizes how crazy he is over her because we can assume a wedding would come much later down the road after their break up. He was just so in love with her to the point of it being as if he would never get over her. It would always be "too soon" to see her with someone else. I'm probably reading into that last part way too much though haha.

This is a song about a guy and a girl who were in love at one time but for the girl feelings faded and she just doesn't feel the same anymore. The guy is still in love with her but wanted her to be happy so he agreed to 'mutually' end things no matter what he felt deep inside. He then meets her new boyfriend probably by chance running into them and the new boyfriend does the whole "i hope there are no hard feelings" speech and the first guy says he understands and then right there he realizes how miserable he is without this girl and he would rather her be lonely than have moved on because he knows she needs someone but he just wishes she had waited until he was ready to move on too because its just too painful. He also thinks about telling her he misses her but he's to proud to do that and he wants to tell her that he figured himself out and is ready to be what she wants but he thinks maybe he just wants to say that to get her back. In the end he knows she's gone and he can't help but still wish she was as lonely as he was.
This is a song that's really easy to relate to for me because basically my ex boyfriend did exactly that to me and I was so heart broken I just wish this song was around when it happened so I could listen to it and not feel quite so alone. This is an amazing and very powerful song packed with emotions and hurt.

This song is just so powerful and raw emotion. It's about this guy and a girl that mutually ended their relationship. The guy convinces himself that it's all good and he's going to move forward. But when the girl starts dating another guy, it just crushes him right there and then. Because for people who still hadn't moved on, it doesn't matter if you've broken up, seeing the one you love happy with someone else still hurts like hell. It is just an evidence and reminder of what you weren't capable of doing to make her happy with you.
This guy begs the girl to hold on and wait. She maybe ready but he's not. He'd rather both of them were miserably lonely than happy with other people. He knows it's selfish but he can't help the feeling. It basically destroys him being torn like that.
I just really love this song.

It's about a guy, whose girlfriend broke up with him, even though it was 'mutual', and he really wants her back. She's not coming back, and he knows that the right thing to do is to let her go and let her be happy, but he really doesn't want to. He wants to hold on tight, and if he can't do that, he doesn't want her to be happy, because that means that she's truly leaving him behind.

To me this song is about a guy who just broke up with his girlfriend. The girl moves on with her life (being with someone new) while the guy has a hard time moving on because he still loves her. The guy is trying to accept what happened to his relationship. He just want to say that he is still devastated, he feels that their break up was unexpected for him, he doesn't want see her happy with some other guy and wants her all to himself but in the end he just wish her well, he will always support her in any way and let her go.
Or maybe it's something else. We will never know the meaning behind this song until the song writer (josh ramsay) tells us. We can just all agree that this song has touched many hearts while listening to this song.

All he sees is the girl he loves. He can't help but miss her, because to him, whenever shes with the new guy he knows it shouldnt have ended. He knows that he shouldnt say anything, but he needs her, hes just scared and knows that she needed someone when they broke off. He misses her, and doesn't want her to be happy with someone else. He wants to be the one making her smile and making her happy. He doesn't know how to deal with losing her, especially since she has already found someone new and hes stuck in the past.

Its an explanation that relationships are selfish. You want her/him all to yourself because it makes you happy. Not necessarily that the two are right for each other. You say what he/she wants to hear to get them to keep you. You not always honest about your true feelings and when it comes to the end you don't understand why you yourself were not truthful to begin with because the truth is what could have saved the relationship. Missing someone is loving someone.

The girl he loves is seeing another guy. He is sad because he feels that she moved on too soon. He wishes that she could just be alone and lonely so that he doesn't have to see her happier with somebody else. Every single song on this album is about a breakup. A guy in the band said "thank you amanda" for this album. I'm guessing a breakup between josh and this girl inspired the album. These songs touch my heart becuse I'm currently missing an ex with all my heart.

My meaning of the song so soon is that a relation ship were the girl probably broke it off and he misses her a lot but he doesn't want to say he misses her maybe because hes scared that she wont fell the same way and when he says" this just fells so soon" he might mean that hey just started going out then she broke it off then probably a week after she got back together and he wants her to be lonely again because he obviously loves her but she doesn't know and you know the saying" if you love them you'll let them go " well at the end he says I don't want to see you happier with somebody else but he also says its time to let go so he finally realizes lat he has to let her go but he still doesn't want to :)

I think it's more a relapsing but not wanting too into bulimia. He's working on getting better and he wants to get be a figured out but he's not. Or it could be about heroin. They are both addictions and a lot of the songs on this album I've noticed talk about his self image. Like in ever after when he says but I won't lose a pound or just the whole song of desperate measures. I wonder if he is relapsing back in to his eating disorder.
Or I could be reading too much into it and it's just a breakup song. But I am relapsing into my bulimia so I see bulimia everywhere right now.
