MandoPony – The Show Must Go On lyrics
(Oh, la la la la la
Oh, la la la la-la-la-la
Oh la la la la la la
Oh la la la)
One two three four!

[Verse 1]
There was a full moon in the sky.
We met a brand new robot friend.
At first, he seemed a little shy
He would not play pretend
.

He sang just fine and played in time
But did not look the part.
So we lovingly decided to give him
A brand new start
!

[Chorus]
No matter what we say or do
It's never up to me or you
We smile now
And sing A cheer
!

The show must go on
The show must go on
Never fear
The show will go on

[Spoken]
Hahahaha! Ha-hoh!
We're gonna have so much fun together!
It's gonna be a real party!

[Verse 2]
We removed his squishy casing
To keep his circuits safe and sound.
And ended up replacing it with scraps
That we had found
.

But what a shame!
(A crying shame)
Our friend was in a world of pain.
Oh, we tried to fix him up
But it was all in vain
!

[Chorus]
No matter what we say or do
It's never up to me or you

We smile now
And sing A cheer!

The show must go on!
The show must go on!
Never fear!
The show will go on!

[Bridge]
We just don't know what went wrong.
We tried to get along.
But our new robot friend's
Power faded
.

We did our best to fix our guest
We hated to see him so distressed.
We said farewell and had him
Terminated
!

(Music)

[Hook]
Every toy eventually breaks
Every battery fades and drains.
Even the tiniest little mistakes
Can leave behind the messiest stains
.
We know that we'll be alright
Although he didn't survive the night.
Through the pain and through the tears
The show goes on for years and years!

[Chorus]
No matter what we say or do
It's never up to me or you
We smile now
And sing A cheer!

The show must go on!
The show must go on!
Never fear
The show will go on!

This song to me sounds like the animatronics see the guard as a new friend, but they keep wondering why he doesn't want to play and have fun with them. He would be a perfect addition to the band, but didn't look like he fit in. Out of love them decided to fix him up. They removed his flesh, basically, and replaced it with scraps. Surprisingly, their new friend was in pain, and then his power faded. I think we all can guess that means he died. They tried to fix him, but eventually gave up, said good bye, and had him terminated. They go on about how every toy breaks eventually, and that even though he didn't survive, he'll be alright. However, despite everything that has happened, the show must go on.

This amazing and catchy song by Mandopony represents what happens in the "Five Nights at Freddy's 2" franchise. During the day they have no control over what they sing, say, and/or do. They have to "smile and sing a cheer". During the night, their ai allows them to roam around and do as they please, until they spot the new nightguard. They mistake him for a robot. Luckily, they see him as a friend, but their newfound friend wont play their game. They removed his 'squishy casing' or skin and was obviously in a world of pain because they replaced it and his "circuits" with scraps that they had found lying about the pizzeria, possibly from the older models in the parts/service room. The animatronics knew he was dying and didn't understand why. They tried and tried to fix him, but eventually, they understood that they couldn't save him. They then 'had him terminated' meaning they killed him off. They say that "every toy eventually breaks, every battery fades and drains" meaning that he would eventually die anyway and so will they at some point. "Even the tiniest little mistakes can leave behind the messiest stains" means that the accidental murder of the nightguard they see as a 'tiny little mistake' ended with blood staining their tile floors. "We know that we'll be alright although he didn't survive the night" means that although he is now dead, he's in a better place and will never be forgotten. "through the pain and through the tears the show goes on for years and years" means that they cry on the inside during the day when performing for the children and never quit playing for many years.

"No matter what we say or do.
It's never up to me or you".

I think this sounds like the animatronics don't have a choice in what they say to other people or what they do, because they are controlled in day time hours. So, they all have to "Smile now and sing a cheer.".
