Journey – After All These Years lyrics
A faded wedding photograph
You and me in our first dance
Our eyes are closed
We're lost in one sweet embrace
Since those days the world has changed
Our love remains the same
God knows we've had our share of saving grace

And I'm proud of all the blessings
You have given me
The mountains we have climbed to get this far
You learn to take the laughter with the tears
After all these years

You make it feel brand new
After the fires that we walked thru
Against the odds we never lost our faith

In a house we've made our own
Where our children all have grown
Precious moments time can not erase

Make a livin' up and down the gypsy highway
Seasons that we've beared to share apart
Somehow in my heart I always keep you near
After all these years

After all these years
You stood by me
The days and nights that I was gone
After all these years
You sacrificed, believed in me
And you stood strong
Cause with our love there's nothing left to fear
After all these years

After all these years
You stood by me
The days and nights that I was gone
After all these years
You sacrificed, believed in me
And you stood strong
Cause with our love there's nothing left to fear
After all these years

When we first heard this song it was meant for and all about us. We met back in 72' and had a son right out of high school in 74'. I joined the NAVY to care and support them both. It was rough (fires, gypsy highway, mountains climbed) we didn't know we could make it. We just had to keep the faith, sacrifice, believe and to love each other. She held it together through all my deployments, season changes, cared for our children and our many homes. Blessed with our two sons and four grandchildren, we have made it. Since that dance when I met her, she stood strong and believed in me. Often reflecting back in our precious moments and faded photographs...in our love there's nothing left to fear...After All These Years. This is our anniversary song (along with YOU and I -Kenny Rogers/Bee Gees). Still going strong 50-years in July 2022, I am happy, loved and truly blessed.

Growing old together and looking back to all the hard moments in life and realize it's what made you a family. When you talk with your partner and laugh remembering the times you lost your patience with the children and how you gave up somethings for yourself to make way for your family. A time when you see your kids become parents and remember how they used to be. Life has so many wonderful surprises and its meant to be shared with the person you can imagine living withou.

I was looking for a song like this. We'll celebrate our 65th wedding anniversary this year. There were times, many years ago, when there was turmoil in our relationship, when we didn't like each other. But even when we didn't like each other, we still loved each other, and love took us past the turmoil. Now, in our old age, the hormones have faded but we are still in love; and now our love has history -- of good times and adventures shared, of useful lives well-spent. We still say "I love you" to each other several times a day, still call each other "sweetheart" and "love of my life". We are grateful to have each other -- no regrets.

I've been an internal consultant for my company for the last 7 years, and the last 3 years I've traveled 75% of the business days. My wife of 20 years has held down the fort, and welcomed me home with a smile, kiss, and a hug. She's amazing, and I look forward to the next 30+ years we will share together, as my parents celebrated their 50th anniversary on saturday, as my dad's parents did in 1980.

This song means a lot to me. Its like getting into a wrong marriage forcing me to accept and experience true love in a wrong time but fortunately ending it up for the sake of the first marriage. He raise his new family and I raise mine too. He has children of his own and I have mine and after all these years he stood by me and still believes in me. Precious moments cannot be erase. Secretly I still love the man but I must choose the right path. This time I realize that I love my husband, my children and my family as I look our faded wedding photographs.

Great song for the person whose so much in love. I am married for long and we keep struggling 'till now. The love fades but I keep on fighting for it. God knows how I'm fighting for my self. What my minds says is different from what my heart feel. That's what this song is for me. I dedicated this to my husband. I'm thankful that I have him in my life, that He stood by me no matter what.

Life is not as simple as we think. Life could be full of happiness, sadness, tears, fears, pains and sacrifices. But the thing that makes us stand still and keep moving on, is being with the person that keeps on doing everything to guide you. , and giving hi/her broad understanding. , especially on the days of your weaknesses. , and in every fall, reaching you to stand againn. And keep on loving you.

This song is a great love song. When my husband and I got married we were 17 and 19. I was pregnant and a junior in high school. We definitely faced some challenges for our age although it wasn't as hard for us as it could have been. We are about to celebrate our 30th anniversary! We have three wonderful sons, a wonderful daughter-in-law and three beautiful grandchildren! The song really is a little more special not just for the lyrics, but open arms by journey is our wedding song. Here we are 30 years later with another great song by them. I love you scott, always and forever, ellen.

I lost my husband in November this past year after being together for 20 years. This song sounds like our lives. All the things we went through. He only heard this song once before he passed as we had a discussion about whether this was a new song or an old re-make of Journey for one of their old songs. I miss him so much and cry everytime this song comes on the radio.

Simply said it is one of the most wonderful and greatest love songs, no matter for who it goes O. Anyone you have known for along time and have developed a loving and caring relationship. Yes it seems to lean towards a marrage but I tell you it could be for grandparents you love or many others in ur life and of course how strong it has endured. It is just awesome and the new singer does have the strength to sing many of the groups old and new songs. I hope to see them in concert when ever they come to tampa. Just a great, great song as other ones they have performed and sung.
