Darlene Zschech – Worthy Is The Lamb lyrics
Thank you for the cross, Lord.
Thank you for the price you paid.
Bearing all my sin and shame, in love you came
And gave Amazing Grace.

Thank you for this love, Lord.
Thank you for the nail-pierced hands.
Wash me in Your cleansing flow, now all I know...
Your forgiveness and embrace.

Worthy is the Lamb
Seated
on the throne.
We crown You now with many crowns
You reign victorious!
High and lifted up
Jesus, Son of God.
The darling of Heaven, crucified...
Worthy is the Lamb.

Beyond circumstance and beyond himself, Jesus carried the burden of separation and dumped it straight where it belongs: in Hell. Fully God and fully man, the mystery of God revealed in what seemed silliness and weakness to the world. Love conquered all.
Wash me in your cleansing flow: The life is in the blood, or so thought our ancestors, literally and symbolically. To be awash in blood sounds gross, and it is, but to view it as a metaphor is a better method. The life that Jesus lived and his essence (blood) washes over his people, displacing bitterness, despair and death.
Worthy is the lamb: A reference to Revelations where only the one who has met God's requirements for living is allowed to open the scroll that initiates the beginning of the end. All of creation and heaven was waiting for Jesus and his purpose to be revealed before continuing. Lambs were ritually killed as offerings in Judaism for a multitude of reasons including erasure of sin. As part of the ceremony, the lamb's blood may be sprinkled upon person for whom the sacrifice was given, further explaining the symbolism of the blood.
The darling of heaven, crucified: Jesus, killed brutally and purposefully. This was a slow death, painful and humiliating to the victims and families thereof.

Mere words cannot express the depth of this awesome worship piece. For me, it encapsulates everything my heart so wants to say but my mouth cannot come. Up with the right words to express it. God bless you Darlene Zschech for loving God the way you do to help bring to life what countless numbers of hearts like mine so want to say. Simply put but extremely powerful. Full of unending life! And why? Its simply god's word sung back to him. And his Word endures forever: stands the test of time!

According to the law of moses, the jewish people offered animal sacrifices to god to attone for their sins. This was a temporary solution for the problem of sin, and sacrifices needed to be offered periodically to keep jews in a right standing before god. One of the animals commonly sacrificed was a lamb. When jesus was killed on the cross, he became the final and ultimate atonement sacrifice. For those who place their faith in christ, his sacrifice covers all their sin and no other sacrifice to god is necessary. In this way, christ was the sacrificial "lamb" who laid down his life for us. Jesus is worthy of our praise that why worthy is the lamb, I think!

Revelation19: 11-16 vs. 11 and I saw heaven opened and behold a white horse, and he that sat on him was called faithful and true, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were like fire and on his head were many crowns and he had a name written that no man knew but himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood aqnd his name is called the word of god.
And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, king of kings and lord of lords.
Praise, glory, honor, and holiness to our lord and saviour jesus christ.
