Avenged Sevenfold – Scream lyrics
Caught up in this madness too blind to see
Woke animal feelings in me
Took over my sense and I lost control
I'll taste your blood tonight

You know
I make you wanna scream
You know I make you wanna run from me baby
But know it's too late you've wasted all your time

Relax while you're
closing your eyes to me
So warm as I'm setting you free
With your arms by your side there's no struggling
Pleasure's all mine this time

You know I make you wanna scream
You know I make you wanna run from me baby
But know it's too late you've wasted all your time

Cherishing, those feelings pleasuring
Cover me, unwanted clemency
Scream till there's silence
Scream while there's life left, vanishing
Scream from the pleasure unmask your desire
Perishing.

We've all had a time where we've lost control,
We've all had our time to grow,
I'm hoping I'm wrong but I know I'm right,
I'll hunt again one night
.

You know I make you wanna scream,
You know I make you wanna run from me baby,
But know it's too late you've wasted all your time.

Cherishing, those feelings pleasuring,
Cover me, unwanted clemency,
Scream till there's silence,
Scream while there's life left, vanishing,
Scream from the pleasure unmask your desire.
Perishing.

Some live repressing their instinctive feelings,
Protest the way we're built don't point the blame on me.

Scream, scream, scream the way you would if I ravaged your body,
Scream, scream, scream the way you would if I ravaged your mind.

Cherishing, those feelings pleasuring,
Cover me, unwanted clemency,
Scream till there's silence,
Scream while there's life left, vanishing,
Scream from the pleasure
Mask your desire.
Perishing.

Well I think the artist wants the song to mean whatever you want it to mean but vampires? Haha really? I'm a huge vampire fan. I read the Twilight books about a million times. I own the movie. I also read all the House of Night books that are out. And this song really never made me think of vampires at all. So uhh vampires is a kind of weird thing to think of as the meaning. But either way I think its about rape. "pleasures all mine this time" that makes me think of rape. When your being raped your not going to be like "oh baby your so good" or whatever haha "scream till theres silence...scream while theres time left, vanishing" that probably means the girl that's being raped is fixing to die and he wants her to scream. Either way I really don't think its about vampires. Just because something mentions blood doesn't mean its about vampires. Geez ^.^

At first this made me think of a guy with a dominance fetish and a masochistic female then I listened more and thought the taste you blood tonight could for under the 2 fetishes I listed above but perish? This means death was in here yet it says unmask your desire. So it can go between murder/rape to rough s**, which I'm sorry you "innocent" people but that happens a lot more than you think, probably in your parents bedroom too. But this song really can go multiple directions.

This song can go both ways. It is either a song about extreme, hardcore, animalistic s**, or about how he murdered a girl and he liked it alot. The animalistic s** is from when he says pleasures all mine tonight suggests that he wants to be in charge of their s** night. And when he says relax while your closing your eyes to me tonight, and scream the way you would if I ravaged your body. The murder sense is from he'll taste her blood tonight, wanna run from me baby, (who would want to run from M. Shadows, sexy), and when he says he will hunt again one night. That means for more girls.

I think this song is just a tribute to the movie "scream" by wes craven, I mean in the album before "city of evil", they dedicated two songs to two famous people, one to hunter S. Thompson (idk) "bat country" and another song to "dimebag" darrell (late guitarist for pantera), and maybe they just wanted to do another tribute, plus there are some lyrics wich remind me of scream like "i'll taste your blood tonight", ghostface from scream loves to stalk his victims, and kills them very slowly, another part is where M. Shadows sings: "unmask your desire", makes me think that the desire is to know who's behind the killer's mask, I. E. To "unmask" him/her, and the last thing I would like to mention is the part where he sings "don't point the blame on me", in the scream movies is all about pointing fingers to everyone, because anyone could be the killer, ready to strike at every moment.

Its not about rape. Its about the kind of rough s** that resembles rape. If it were actual rape he wouldnt be talking about her pleasure and unleashing her and all that stuff. Its that type of s** where a girl that has to be in total control of her life during the day (work, kids, whatever) can let go and submit, be taken advantage of and controlled. But you know, willingly. Fantastic.

It make me think that its about life in general and how society takes a toll on people for example "Some live repressing their instinctive feelings,
Protest the way we're built don't point the blame on me. " meaning that instinctively our feelings would be savage and cruel and that's how he is and says not to blame him its the way he was built, hes not actually crazy he just seems to be.

You guys are clearly don't get it, nor do many people who post on these sites. Artists don't tell you the meaning of the songs, because they purposly want them to be left up to whatever you think it is. If to one person, its werwolves and vampires, and to another, its murder or rape, then its both, its whatever you want it to be. If a song had a meaning that was set in stone, then they would tell you what it means. But if you ask me, its about a relationship. Just think about it.

Ugh. 5 bucks says all these people saying it's about vampires and werewolves and crap are Twilight fans. The song is, very obviously about (apparently violent) rape; all the lyrics point to it. The speaker is talking about losing control and raping someone, the raw feeling of the act, and knowing deep down he'll lose control again. And Deargod12, just because a song is about rape doesn't mean it's a "confession." Many, many songs are not based on a personal experience. What, you think in A Little Piece of Heaven he's admitting he killed a woman, then she came back from the grave and killed him, then they both came back and got married? The song is sung from a viewpoint, not necessarily the band or singer's.

This song is definitely about rape. "your arms by your side, there's no struggling" he is going to rape her, and she believes that he'll let her go if he cooperates. "scream, scream, scream the way you would if i ravaged your body" yeah, point and case. It is so very wrong and sick and twisted, but awesome. I often tell people its about vampires because it gets a less bewildered look from people unfamiliar with and violence in songs.

H- *sigh* wow. People can be so weird. Ahaha! What am I saying?! Now, about this whole vampyre question: yes. They're real. Cause if not, my best friend wouldn't be sitting next to me. And I kinda wouldn't be here. Ehehm. But not all vampyres are twilight and dracula! Ever heard of a psychic vamp? Oh, and how can this song be about anyone from avenged raping someone? Rape is only s** you never knew you wanted.
J-hey that's my quote! Plus who wouldn't willingly give it up to any of them(well no one would give it to rev. He's creepy)
H- but he's an awesome drummer! He can't be replaced!

This song is about rape. And then probably killing afterwards. No where in the song does it give the hint at killing accept, "I'll taste ur blood tonight" some may think "I'll hunt again one night" but honestly, he's a guy hunting for his pray to rape, not neccessarily kill.
He's telling her to Scream, he doesn't sream at all.
Come on, Scream from the pleasure. S** gives pleasure to the victim in a way but killing does not.
Unwanted clemency. The girl is giving in because there is nothing she can do if a guy with greater force is raping her.
And f*k vampires, they aren't real.

Haha everyone's view of this song cracks me the butt hole up. But I believe the song is about a roller coaster ride that makes him feel nauseous and while he is on it he feels like he is perishing because the pit of his stomach is coming out his mouth and he doesn't know what to do about it except for scream. You people with rape, murder, and vampires are intense, but hey lets take it pg and claim that it's just a bad Six Flags experience.

This song is about vampires. Just because it says "scream", "pleasure", and "desire" does not make it about s*. All of those can be associated with the vampire and his prey. Obviously, A7xforlifebabyyy, you're just addicted to the idea of everything being correlated with s*. And as for Poorblondedestiny14 with the rape thing, why would a band be talking about raping someone in a song? That would be a public confession with a crime that supposedly isn't tolerated in america, thus making it a very unlikely hypothesis.
