Three Days Grace – Gone Forever lyrics
Don't know what's going on
Don't know what went wrong
Feels like a hundred years
I still can't believe you're gone
So I'll stay up all night
With these blood shot eyes
While these walls surround me
With the story of our life

I feel so much better
Now that you're gone forever
I tell myself that I don't miss you at all
Now that I aint denyin, denying that I feel so much better
Now that you're gone forever

Now
things are coming clear
And I don't need you here
And in this world around me
I'm glad you disappeared
So I'll stay out all night
Get drunk and fuckin fight
Until the morning comes
I'll forget about our life

I feel so much better
Now that you're gone forever
I tell myself that I don't miss you at all
Now that I aint, denying that I feel so much better
Now that you're gone forever

First time you screamed at me
I should have made you leave
I should have known it could be so much better
I hope you're missing me
I hope I've made you see
That I'm gone forever

And now it's coming clear
That I don't need you here
And in this world around me
I'm glad you disappeared

I feel so much better
Now that you're gone forever
I tell myself that I don't miss you at all
Now that I aint, denying that I feel so much better
Now that you're gone forever
And now you're gone forever
And now you're gone forever

It is not about any ex-girlfriend who "ripped out his heart". It is about Adam Gontier, the singer, who wrote the song while in rehab. It's about his drug addiction.
He describes it as a "relationship" - what it kinda is - and how he wants to live without the drugs but he is also addicted, so he can't leave it behind that easy.

If any of you paid any attention to the lyrics its how he feels after a girl ripped his heart out because in the beginning he sings "dont know what went wrong, feels like 100 years i still cant believe your gone" and as the song progresses he realizes he didn't do anything wrong she did which is why he sings "and things are coming clear, and i dont need you here and in this world around me im glad you disappeared".

Personally, I thought the song originally was about how he broke up with a lover. I also thought it was written and sang sarastically, hint the main lyrics; "I feel so much better now that you're gone forever!" which is then followed up by "I tell myself that I don't miss you at all..."
And then the verse, "So I'll stay out all night, get drunk and F*** fight!" Something a person might do if they want to forget something.
But I have to agree with Celinesaddern on it now, it makes sense :)
